Brent Council is proposing multiple road closures across the borough, which will have a severe and detrimental effect on many residents and visitors. Brent is implementing these measures immediately using 'Experimental Traffic Orders' to avoid consulting with the community beforehand.
Initial plans were leaked, leading to significant local opposition. As a result, Brent now intends yo implement the road closures in stages, with Tiverton Road bridge to be closed as a first step, before putting in place the others.
After the closure of Tiverton Road, Brent plans for the following roads to be blocked, some in more than one place:
1. Chevening Road;
2. Hanover Road;
3. Kingswood Avenue;
4. Mount Pleasant Road;
5. The Avenue.
These closures will force even more traffic onto Chamberlayne Road and Salusbury Road, lengthening journey times and significantly increasing congestion and pollution. Both these roads already suffer from delays, long tailbacks and significant pollution and both have large primary schools roadside. The impact will be especially harmful for those residing, attending school or struggling to make a living in these roads.

These closures are underway already.
